XWin32
Starting XWin32 (X windows) on a PC
- Log onto a PC running windows. Select X-win32 from the Start
Menu, then select X-util32 from the sub-menu. The following window
will pop up:
- Select New Session... from Sessions and enter the following
information in the next pop-up window (as in the figure):
- Session Name: sand OR rain
- Connect Using: XDMCP
- Auto startup -- select
- Auto restart -- select
- Window settings -- Default
- Host_name: sand.cise.ufl.edu OR rain.cise.ufl.edu
- XDMCP Mode: Query
- Click on Save to save the information.
- From the Start Menu, select X-win32 and again select X-win32 and
log in as one would on a sun.
