The Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE)
Department at the University of Florida has developed an Academic
Tutoring Center (ATC), which is centered on peer tutoring in the
CISE major courses and all programming languages taught by the CISE
Department. Peer tutoring can offer benefits to both tutors and
students seeking help. The challenge of explaining complex ideas
to a fellow student reinforces the tutor's knowledge of a subject,
while the comfortable peer relationship creates a relaxed learning
opportunity for students who are having difficulties.
