A few of my favorite Causes
Greetings! I'm an recent graduate here at the CISE (Computers &
Information Sciences & Engineering ) department of the
University of Florida. The only Dual-Amperstand department on campus!
I recently got a job at the NERD here on
campus. Ahh, professional computer-geekism for me!
You can see
What I'm working on:
- Most recently I've been working on kerberos for our campuswide
authentication. It's interesting stuff, but builing these services for
50,000 people plus is not trivial... Mail and web space, anyone?
Uh.... I mean, Everyone
- I maintain the CCC Faq.
What's the CCC? Take a look at question number 0.
There are archives, in two formats at the moment: a HyperMail
archive of the last (calendar) month, and an Mbox archive
going back to Tue Jan 21 23:56:02 1992.
- At the nerd, we're working on automating some of our internal
beuracracy using Remedy Corp's
Action Request System (ARS). I'm one of the folks working on
that project.
- I do some work for the President's office, and the UF Communications
network. You can peek at work in progress if you
don't mind the rough edges.
- developing a client base for my business, Chameleon Computer
Resources. Send me mail if you're interested.
- DUMP: the Final Chapter. Version III of a heterogeneous backup
program that is capaple of dealing with the vagaries of Large systems.
Watch for links as things progress.
This project may be dead; it may be cheaper for CISE to take advantage
of some site licensure than for me to develop on my own; Therefore,
I'm investigating other backup plans.
Various Things
Things I've done:
- Graduating
Done...
- The The UF calendar
: I mean, the real, official one. :)
- Wrote the CISE department's backup
system. At the time of last check, it was running a little over 70 GB
of space, all told. I've been managing our backups for about two and a
half years now. Here are the Docs on the system.
- Been married since March 9, 1991.
My other hobbies include Amateur Photography,
one of the 9 ravens from the Tower of London.
Westminster Abbey, in London.
Digital photography is such a boon to the amateur shutterbug. Here's
my house!
Good lord but it's a pile to download. I promise I'll have it stripped down
RSN. (as of April, '99)
Done, already! Every once in a while I can move
fast.. (the next day)
You can reach me at:
What does it say about me that this address has stayed the same for five
years?
(Make that seven and counting: 1997-07-21)
DOH! I moved!, in april, 1998!.. Of course, it was less than a mile... Never
even left the zip code.

In the "inexplicable post scriptum comments" department, I would like to say the following:
booty patrol
Sorry, woog; the other one wouldn't fit with my impending absorption into
corporate culture.
