TEXTS

M. Ginsberg, Essentials of Artificial Intelligence, the required text for the class. All of the reading assignments are from this book. Note that I will not lecture from this book. This book should be viewed as a supplement to the lectures.

Franz Inc., Common Lisp: The Reference, an optional text for the class. This book is an excellent reference on the Lisp language. It has an alphabetical listing of all functions, providing a syntactic definition, natural language definition, and series of examples for each. Material equivalent to this text (G. Steele's Common Lisp The Language) is also available on-line through the World Wide Web.

LECTURE NOTES. This is a copy of all of the overhead slides that will be used during the class. Students can purchase a copy at the University Copy Center (between 16th and 17th St. on University Ave.). Since I will be converting these notes to PowerPoint this term, they will be available in small packets approximately one per week. The total cost will be approximately $12. Each video tape site will be provided with a single copy of these notes which can be copied locally for the students who are enrolled. A PowerPoint Viewer and copies of the lecture notes are available via ftp.
